The Telegraph today neatly sums the dilemma facing the Germans over the euro. I don’t envy them. Damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

I’d like to think the ECB are simply dumb but methinks its politically planned – let the irish peasants pay for the idiocy of the euro banks lending into a clearly unsustainable property bubble. Keep the Euro experiment going at all costs, ignore that man behind the curtain….
Do the politicians serve the people or do the people serve the politicians? In the eurozone, it seems to be the latter.
